European Iaido Championships 2025 – A Successful Journey in Prague

After the successful European Jodo Championships, our members from Hikari Dojo also took part in the European Iaido Championships at the beginning of November, which were held this year in Prague. It was a truly remarkable event, not only were these the largest championships in history so far, but the opening seminar alone attracted nearly 400 participants from all over Europe and from countries belonging to the European Kendo Federation. On the last weekend of September, we packed our jodo sets, weapons, good mood, and set off for the 23rd European Jodo Championships in Zielona Góra, Poland. Once again this summer, the traditional six-day international gasshuku in jodo and iaido took place in Varna, Bulgaria. This annual seminar has become a popular meeting point for budo enthusiasts from across Europe. On a warm weekend in June, the annual Kensei Iaido Taikai 2025 took place in Prague, featuring both a high-level seminar and a competition. The event was led by three distinguished instructors, all 7th dan holders, representing Greece, Switzerland, and Austria.
