Košice is a beautiful city in the summer, especially when the temperatures rise to seasonal highs. This year, the sunny weather felt even more special as we had the honour of welcoming a distinguished guest to our dojo. We were delighted to host Beat sensei, nanadan kyoshi from Switzerland, who greatly enjoyed both the atmosphere of Košice and the warm welcome he received during his stay.
The seminar officially began on Friday afternoon with practice focused on tandoku and sotai dosa. Since these fundamentals are a regular part of our training, even practitioners with lower kyu grades were able to follow and participate with confidence.
Saturday was fully dedicated to an in-depth review of all ZNKR kata. Each kata was demonstrated by members of our dojo, with every participant receiving valuable, detailed feedback directly from sensei. It was truly inspiring to observe how, under his guidance, techniques evolved and improved. The emphasis on detail, technical precision, and correct movement principles was a major benefit for everyone involved.
On Sunday, we continued with individual enbu practice, allowing participants to rehearse and present their kata in a format similar to formal demonstrations or competitions. In addition, our godan-ranked members had the opportunity to work closely with sensei on the Samidare kata.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who took part in the seminar, and especially to Beat sensei for his time, patience, and willingness to share his knowledge and experience. We look forward to training together again in the near future!
