At the beginning of March, we were delighted to welcome a special guest to our dojo for the third time, Beat Bähler sensei, 7th dan, renshi from Switzerland who kindly and with a smile accepted our invitation. It is truly an honor for us that he regularly returns and helps us grow not only technically, but also as individuals.
On Friday afternoon, before training, we enjoyed a short and pleasant break in the city center. Coffee, cake, and beautiful weather created a great atmosphere for discussing the upcoming program and training methodology. This shared time helped us prepare for the weekend in a spirit of focus and cooperation. Afterwards, we moved to the dojo and training began. After a short warm-up, we practiced all Tandoku dosa techniques, and the end of the evening was dedicated to the fundamental striking kihon, which can never be practiced enough.
The main goal of the weekend was preparation for the rokudan examination, so we systematically practiced all 12 ZNKR kata. After Beat sensei’s initial demonstration with Adriana, intensive practice followed with regular partner changes, allowing everyone to train with different levels and approaches. The atmosphere was full of commitment and mutual support. A shared energy, respect, and sincere effort to help one another grow and move forward could be clearly felt.
We were very pleased that our beginners, Juraj and Marco, also took part in the seminar. For them, it was an excellent opportunity to strengthen their foundations, observe more advanced techniques in practice, and experience the intensity of group training. We believe they gained a lot of motivation for their further practice.
On Saturday afternoon, kyu grading examinations took place. After they concluded, Beat sensei appreciated the high level of preparation in our dojo and pleasantly surprised us with his positive evaluation of the performances. We warmly congratulate Sergej on achieving 2nd kyu, and Vincent and Marek on achieving 1st kyu. It is a well-deserved result of their dedication and long-term diligent effort.
After many demanding hours in the dojo, we all welcomed a well-earned rest. The shared dinner, followed by a friendly gathering at our favorite local spot, took place in a relaxed atmosphere full of laughter, conversation, and good spirit. It was a wonderful way to conclude an intensive day.
We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the organization and smooth running of the seminar. Our deepest gratitude goes to Beat sensei for his trust, patience, openness, and long-term support. We greatly appreciate his time, energy, and friendly approach. We look forward to future meetings and to continuing this cooperation, which is a great inspiration for us.
