At the end of March, we gathered in our dojo for an intensive weekend dedicated to the study of Tamiya ryukata. Joined by our friends from Serbia and Hungary, we spent two focused days developing our koryu skills under the guidance of our teacher, Marián sensei.
We covered a total of 12 kata selected from all three series of the school. The training was filled with repetition, detailed explanations, and plenty of physical effort, sweat, sore knees, and all. But that’s the essence of koryu, a path that demands commitment and patience.
We’re already looking forward to the next opportunity to train together in the spirit of our beautiful tradition, this time under the guidance of Patrik sensei, who will be visiting us in just a few months.
